IEC Registration & Surrender
The Importer Exporter Code identifies a business for most goods import and export activities, subject to applicable exemptions. A new application requires consistent business, identity and bank details. Surrender is relevant when the code is no longer required and must be considered alongside any outstanding obligations.
Typical situations
- A new business is starting goods imports or exports
- A business no longer needs its IEC
How we help
- Check identity, constitution and bank records
- Prepare the new application or review surrender requirements
IEC Profile Management
The DGFT IEC profile records the business identity, branches, partners or directors and bank details used for trade applications. It must be maintained as these details change, with PAN and GST records checked for consistency. Profile management also covers authorised users, digital signatures and the mandatory annual IEC confirmation or update.
Typical situations
- Branches, bank accounts or directors have changed
- Annual IEC confirmation or authorised-user updates are due
How we help
- Reconcile the profile with PAN, GST and business evidence
- Support profile changes, user access and annual confirmation
UDIN Verification Support for Customs
DGFT-issued documents carry a unique document identification number that Customs authorities can use to verify authenticity. A clearance query may arise when an authorisation or certificate cannot be matched to the related shipment documents. We help importers and exporters organise verification records and reconcile discrepancies between the DGFT document, invoices and customs declarations.
Typical situations
- Customs requests authentication of a DGFT document
- Authorisation details do not match shipment declarations
How we help
- Organise the DGFT document identification and verification record
- Reconcile authorisation, certificate and shipping details
e-RCMC
An electronic Registration-cum-Membership Certificate records membership with the relevant Export Promotion Council or Commodity Board. We help identify the appropriate body and prepare registration, renewal or amendment requests based on the business and product profile. Membership conditions and its relevance to a benefit should be checked for the particular application.
Typical situations
- A benefit or authorisation requires council membership
- Product or business details on an RCMC need updating
How we help
- Identify the relevant council or commodity board
- Prepare membership, renewal or amendment evidence
Certificate of Origin
A Certificate of Origin records the origin of goods for trade purposes. Preferential certificates depend on the relevant trade agreement’s origin rules, while non-preferential certificates serve other trade requirements; we help organise the evidence appropriate to the shipment. A preferential claim needs evidence that the specific agreement's origin rules are met.
Typical situations
- A buyer requires evidence of the goods' origin
- You intend to claim preference under a trade agreement
How we help
- Review the applicable origin route and supporting production evidence
- Prepare certificate records consistent with shipment documents
Certificate Management (including Status Holder certificates)
Certificate management includes applications and updates for trade-related certificates such as Status Holder recognition. We help review eligibility and supporting export-performance records, and organise applications or corrections under the applicable framework. Recognition is based on the applicable criteria rather than simply the length of time a business has exported.
Typical situations
- Export performance may support Status Holder recognition
- An existing trade certificate needs correction or updating
How we help
- Review eligibility and reconcile performance records
- Prepare the relevant certificate application or update
eBRC
Electronic Bank Realisation Certificates record export proceeds realised through the banking system within the applicable framework. We help exporters reconcile banking and shipment details and address missing or inconsistent records in coordination with their bank. Banking records should explain adjustments or differences rather than assuming every remittance matches a single shipment.
Typical situations
- Export proceeds are missing or inconsistent in the records
- Remittances need to be reconciled with shipments
How we help
- Compare shipping, invoice and bank realisation details
- Support reconciliation with the bank and DGFT records
e-Miscellaneous Payments & e-Refunds
DGFT electronic payment and refund facilities support eligible payments and requests for refund under the applicable process. We help review transaction evidence, identify the appropriate request and prepare supporting records for consideration. A payment error or unused payment does not automatically establish refund eligibility.
Typical situations
- A DGFT payment is unmatched to an application
- An eligible refund request needs supporting evidence
How we help
- Reconcile receipts and application references
- Prepare the applicable payment query or refund request
Who needs this?
- You are starting goods imports or exports and need a new IEC
- Your business, branches, directors, bank details or authorised users have changed on the DGFT profile
- Your IEC status or PAN, GST, bank or customs records do not match
- An export benefit or buyer requirement calls for RCMC, origin certification or Status Holder records
- Export proceeds, a DGFT payment or a document verification query need reconciliation
