Advance Authorisation
Duty-free import of inputs against an export obligation.
In simple terms
Advance Authorisation allows an exporter to import the inputs needed to manufacture an export product without paying customs duty, against an obligation to export the resulting goods within a set period.
It is one of the most useful schemes for manufacturers, but it has to be planned carefully: the input quantities, norms and export obligation all have to match your actual production.
Who needs this?
- Manufacturer exporters who import raw materials, components or packing material
- Merchant exporters working with a supporting manufacturer
- Businesses whose imported input cost is a significant part of the export price
- Exporters with repeat export orders where duty outflow blocks working capital
Key benefits
Duty-free import of inputs, which improves cash flow on every consignment
Input quantities linked to standard or ad-hoc norms for your product
Ability to source indigenously through invalidation instead of importing
A structured record of obligations, so closure is straightforward later
How Subh Exim helps
- 1
We study your export product, bill of materials and past consumption.
- 2
We check the applicable SION or prepare an ad-hoc norms request where none exists.
- 3
We compute the input quantities and value, and prepare the licence application.
- 4
We file on the DGFT portal and coordinate the customs registration of the authorisation.
- 5
We track exports against the obligation and file for EODC or redemption on completion, including extension or clubbing where required.
Documents usually required
- 1.IEC, GST registration and PAN of the firm
- 2.Digital signature or Aadhaar-based DGFT login
- 3.Export order or contract, and details of the export product
- 4.Bill of materials with input-wise consumption and wastage
